I have ventured down town several times in the last few years, and have enjoyed the sights each and every time. This trip I kept putting off and was greatly dreading. And as I feared turned into a lot of waiting --for little gain. But I did manage to get in some great Exploring at the same time. Mainly because I did not fully understand when the offices actually opened. :) After a full year of working--we were supposed to receive our biggest tax refund yet, as a couple. Supposed to is the key words--and with the thousands of people that got ripped off this very tax season, we spent many an hour on the phone, to not talk to anyone. And the IRS web sight basically crashed. So I soon learned that visiting the actual building down town was the best answer. But to go early, because lines formed well before the Federal building actually opened. After the fun security scan- way to early in the morning, you got to continue to wait in line in front of the IRS office because they do not open for another half hour, or so. It is a typical government office, so I will refrain from sharing how little I was actually helped and just share pictures from my roaming around well before the offices opened. I have since heard about the huge new murals near here ---- on building sides in an attempt to make the area more purdy and to keep vandals from doing graffiti. Although I have talked in the past about how amazing some graffiti art really is. On my next down town journey I hope to picture and talk about each of these new huge murals
early arriving at the building. The lack of a line forming should have been my first clew. Because there soon was one. Although I later about was way back in the line, because all of the buildings near hear are government buildings and I could not find an open restroom.
But at least I had coffee!
Church side heading towards I-10 and Circle K -needing more coffee in my system.
After finding more coffee I took the long way around and found a full parking lot full of amazing paintings.
Nice buildings in the historic district.
Art museum I now need to view.
And not just because they are now applying for a liquor licence.
Another museum now on my Exploring list.
Bus station across from another small park
that mostly seemed to be full of homeless people
and police watching the homeless.
Representing
Wyoming -Tucson style.
Sorry Wyoming is were I grew up and my Exploring started.
And the 307 is the Only zip code there.
